Vodafone Idea and Airtel are both a popular telecom operator in India. Companies provide prepaid and postpaid services to their customers in India, along with a host of other add-on services such as caller tunes, value added services, among others. If you are a subscriber of either of these and want to set your preferred caller tune on your phone numbers instead of your boring dial tone. So here we are telling you its complete process.

Caller tunes allow your callers to hear a selected song whenever they call you, instead of just hearing the standard ringing tone. This is different from the ringtone you hear from your phone when someone calls you.

Airtel offers a number of services to its prepaid and postpaid customers, one of which is Caller Tune or as Airtel calls it - Hello Tunes. Like Caller Tunes, Hello Tunes allows your callers to listen to the music you choose, instead of the ringing tone, until you answer their call.

Airtel customers will need the Wink Music app to set up Hello Tune. It is to be noted that prepaid customers who have an unlimited plan will be able to set up Hello Tune for free. Other prepaid customers will have to pay Rs 19 per month only to enable Hello Tune service. Keeping this in mind, we are giving you a step-by-step process on how to set hello tune for Airtel number.

• Download the free Wynk Music app from the Google Play Store or App Store.
• Register with your Airtel phone number and enter OTP.
• Tap on Airtel Hello Tunes icon on the top right side of the home screen.
• Here, you can browse or search for your favorite song.
• Tap on Song and select Activate for Free.

Your airtel hello tune is now set. The selected song will be valid for 30 days from the date of activation and Unlimited plan users can renew the tune at no charge. You can also change the tune whenever you want.

Airtel Hello Tunes cannot be set via USSD code or helpline number, so the whole process is a bit tedious for non-smart 4G phone users, such as feature phone users. They will need to transfer their SIM card to the smartphone, set up Hello Tune using the Wink Music app, and then return the SIM to the non-smartphone. Phones with 4G connectivity and above can have Hello Tunes.

To turn off Hello Tunes on your Airtel number, in the Wink Music app tap on the hamburger menu in the top left > Manage Hellotunes > the three dot menu next to the current Hello tune > Stop Hellotune > Done.

Vi Caller Tunes offers songs in languages ​​like Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, Marathi, Gujarati, Bhojpuri and Punjabi.

• Go to Download App/Online Store/Vi App Caller Tunes section. Punch your mobile number and enter OTP.
• A list of Caller Tunes will appear, separated by Genres, Latest Releases and Tune of the Day.
• Click on play button on each caller tune to listen playback.
