Hyaluronic acid is a fundamental component of our skin: when the serum is not enough, it is necessary to resort to injections.
If you want to effectively correct the signs of aging, the first thought is to use a serum, rather than a cream, based on plumping substances. What involves the birth of wrinkles is precisely the lack of nourishment and dehydration due to the lack of production of certain substances.
If you have already tried a hyaluronic acid serum sold online, but the result was bland, you can opt for the so-called “pinprick”, or a filler of this substance, to be injected under the skin.
Not only that, in fact this solution can also be adopted to plump the lips, thin at the start or thinned with the passage of time. Would you like to know more? Keep reading our article!
Hyaluronic acid: what is it?
You have heard a lot about it but you have not yet understood what it is: hyaluronic acid is a substance produced by the skin, which has the function of binding to water molecules, ensuring hydration to the dermis to the end.
The production of hyaluronic acid is at its maximum at a young age but, as we get older, it decreases, implying the birth of wrinkles, which are largely due to the lack of hydration of the deeper layers of the skin.
How, then, to make up for this deficiency? First you can try creams, gels and serums based on this component. Subsequently and in the most important cases (such as in those who have already dry basic skin), it is advisable to opt for fillers.
What are hyaluronic acid injections for?
Do you want to know if the filler of this substance is right for you? Let's see together for what purpose it can be used. These stings are useful for reducing the so-called crow's feet, or the wrinkles around the eyes and the roughness of the forehead.
If you have scars caused, for example, by juvenile acne, the filler can fill them and thus minimize their appearance. It is also useful for filling thin lips or lips made such by advancing age. Those with sagging cheekbones, one of the characteristics of aging, can opt for fillers with a maximum concentration of hyaluronic acid, in order to bring them up.
In general, it is also possible to take advantage of the punctures to reshape the shape of the face and to make the breasts, calves and even the buttocks more turgid.
The different types
A characteristic of hyaluronic acid-based fillers is their ability to be reabsorbed over a given period of time. This means that, after this period, the effect will fade and it will therefore be necessary to repeat the injection lip fillers in Belfast.
A clarification becomes necessary: the long-lasting ones have a negative effect to evaluate that is to make sure that the skin cells now consider it useless to produce new hydration, thus increasing the aging process. Basically, the dermis will believe that it no longer has to produce hyaluronic acid, since there is already a lot of it.
Having said that, here are the types of fillers available on the market: those with ultra-fast absorption can maintain their effect for a period of about three months, those with medium absorption about six months, those with slow absorption about 12 months and those with ultra slow absorption about 24 months.
How the sting happens
Of course, if you are afraid of bites, it will not be easy to get used to the idea of having one in the face. However, think that the needle of this syringe is very thin, so it will not cause great pain during penetration.
It goes without saying that it must be performed only and exclusively by qualified personnel, so no improvisations by beauticians and the like: you should always consult a doctor. This is also because it is advisable to check that there are no contraindications, so the expert's opinion is of fundamental importance.
A first reassurance, however, is that of not having to be subject to allergic reactions, as the hyaluronic acid fillers do not cause the same consequences that, in some cases, could occur with those of collagen, for example.
The treatment is therefore not invasive and can be carried out without anesthesia and in day hospital: however, this does not mean that the penetration of hyaluronic acid is totally painless, as there are those who feel burning and a little discomfort as it passes. .
Consequently, if the patient has sensitive skin, the doctor prefers to inject a substance that partially numbs the area, such as lidocaine. You will also have to consider that, after the treatment; there may be redness or swelling, if not even bruises: don't worry, however, because everything passes within one or two days.
What results are obtained?
If you have happened to look at some photos or to follow the transmission of a famous person, who has distorted his characteristics, you may be afraid of obtaining the same effect: do not worry, because the hyaluronic acid filler manages to give a very natural, as well as guaranteeing an immediate result.
As we have already said before, however, its effect tends to gradually decrease, depending on the type of treatment to which it has been subjected, so, as soon as the wrinkles return or the lips become thinner, it will be necessary to repeat it if you do not wants to return to the starting point.
There are also some aspects to consider, i.e. it must also be considered that not all of them can have the same effects in the same way: for example, a dry skin will have more difficulty in retaining hyaluronic acid for a long time, compared to an oily one, or one area is not like another, so in some areas the reabsorption will be faster.

Then there are other factors that determine the maintenance of the injected acid: for example, periods of stress lead to greater consumption, in the same way those who smoke are less likely to keep it intact for a long time, or even continuous exposure to the sun does not it does nothing but favor its reabsorption.
